FAQ
DBT Coaching:
-
The decision between private pay DBT coaching and weekly DBT therapy depends on your individual needs, goals, and commitment level:
Private Pay DBT Coaching with a board-certified DBT coach is an intensive, high-touch program ideal for individuals who are highly motivated, seeking rapid transformation, and are ready to make deep, lasting changes in their emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. This program offers personalized coaching, after-hours contact, and unparalleled access to your coach, allowing you to work on skills and challenges in real-time. It’s best for those who need more support between sessions and are ready to invest in their transformation. This option is well-suited for those with complex emotional needs or leadership roles that require a higher level of emotional management.
Weekly DBT Therapy is ideal for those who may prefer a more structured, long-term treatment plan with consistent support through weekly sessions. This option works well for clients who are in need of steady progress and want a balanced pace, with a focus on developing DBT skills over time. Weekly therapy can still be transformative, especially if you’re working through ongoing challenges but prefer a more traditional therapy setting or have budget constraints.
Ultimately, private pay DBT coaching with a board-certified DBT coach is an intensive, exclusive program with a focus on high-level, real-time support, while weekly DBT therapy offers a structured, consistent path toward healing. We recommend scheduling a consultation to discuss your goals and help determine which path is the best fit for your needs.
CBT-I Program:
-
CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) is a structured, evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals who struggle with sleep issues. Our 8-week, self-paced virtual program provides sleep education, tools to identify and change harmful sleep patterns, and techniques to improve sleep quality over time.
-
While traditional sleep hygiene tips focus on basic habits, the CBT-I program goes deeper by addressing the thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that contribute to chronic insomnia. It includes cognitive restructuring and sleep restriction techniques, which are scientifically proven to help people sleep better without relying on medications.
-
CBT-I is highly effective for individuals with chronic insomnia and those who prefer to avoid medication. However, if your sleep issues are related to underlying conditions like depression or anxiety, CBT-I may need to be combined with other treatments for the best results. We recommend scheduling a consultation to determine if CBT-I is right for you.
Assessment:
-
The therapeutic assessment process is a comprehensive approach to understanding your emotional, psychological, and behavioral health. During this process, we use gold-standard psychological measures, gather information from relevant sources (such as teachers, parents, and clients), and provide a detailed evaluation that explores your strengths and areas for growth. The goal is not only to identify potential diagnoses but also to understand how you can leverage your strengths to overcome challenges and achieve your personal and therapeutic goals. The process includes a feedback session to ensure you fully understand your results and the recommended next steps for healing and growth.
-
The therapeutic assessment process typically takes about 2-4 weeks from start to finish. It begins with an initial intake session to discuss your concerns and gather background information, followed by standardized assessments that measure various psychological domains. After the assessments are complete, we compile the results into a comprehensive report with specific recommendations for therapy, treatment, or support. Finally, we schedule a feedback session to discuss the findings and next steps in a way that’s clear and actionable for you. Throughout the process, you’ll have opportunities to ask questions and ensure that you’re comfortable with every aspect of your assessment.
General:
-
We do accept some insurance plans in order to increase access to care for our clients. However, many of our clients choose not to use insurance due to the added benefit of maintaining higher confidentiality and greater flexibility in their treatment. Insurance companies require that services meet medical necessity criteria, and certain programs, such as intensive DBT coaching, CBT-I virtual programming, and wellness enhancement services, are not covered by insurance.
For those who prefer the privacy and freedom of direct pay options, opting out of insurance means there are fewer limitations on the type and frequency of care you can receive. If you choose to work with us using insurance, we will work closely with you to ensure that your plan provides the necessary coverage for your needs. Otherwise, for services like our DBT coaching and CBT-I programs, we provide the flexibility of private pay options, which allow us to deliver the highest level of personalized care without the constraints imposed by insurance companies. We can also provide superbills for those who request this service.
